ABFinal

Comparison

ABFinal vs VWO

VWO is an established testing and optimization platform that in 2026 merged with AB Tasty under the Wingify name. ABFinal is a free calculator toolkit. Here's how they compare.

Facts checked November 2026. Follow the Sources links for current details.

What VWO is

VWO, made by Wingify, grew from a visual A/B testing tool into a broader optimization suite: web and mobile testing, server-side testing, behavior analytics (heatmaps, session recordings, surveys), personalization and feature management. It has long been popular with mid-size e-commerce and marketing teams.

Two ownership changes matter for buyers:

  • January 2025: Everstone Capital acquired a majority stake in Wingify.
  • January 2026: Everstone announced it was combining Wingify with AB Tasty. In September 2026 the combined company introduced Wingify as its unified brand and launched a single platform built from VWO and AB Tasty.

If you're evaluating VWO now, ask how the roadmap for your specific products will change as the two platforms merge.

What ABFinal is

A free website with A/B testing calculators and guides. It plans and analyzes tests but doesn't run them. No signup, no tracking, no script on your site.

When VWO makes sense

  • You want testing, research tools and personalization in one place with a visual editor.
  • Your team prefers Bayesian reporting.
  • You're comfortable with a vendor going through a major merger, or you value what the combined platform offers.

Where ABFinal helps

  • Before buying any platform: use the MDE calculator to see if your traffic supports testing at all.
  • Alongside VWO: size tests in advance, check visitor splits with the SRM checker, and get a frequentist second opinion from the significance calculator.
  • For teaching: the formulas on each page make it easier to explain results to people outside the CRO team.

Common questions

Is VWO the same company as AB Tasty now?

Yes. Private equity firm Everstone Capital, which took a majority stake in VWO's parent Wingify in January 2025, announced the combination of Wingify and AB Tasty on January 20, 2026. In September 2026 the combined business launched Wingify as its unified brand, with a single platform built from both products.

Does VWO have a free plan?

VWO has offered free starter tiers and trials in the past, but plans change. When we checked in November 2026, vwo.com's pricing link led to Wingify's pricing page, which listed Growth, Pro and Enterprise tiers with a demo request rather than published prices. Check the current page before deciding.

Which statistics does VWO use?

VWO's reporting is built on a Bayesian approach it calls SmartStats, reporting things like the probability that a variant beats the baseline. ABFinal's significance calculator shows both a frequentist test and an exact Bayesian probability, so you can compare readings.
